The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land.
The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains….
For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.
 
We have lost many members of our class.  Our sympathies are extended to all of their families as they are dearly missed.

Arden – Carroll Luther Tweed, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Mission Hospital. He is now reunited with the love of his life.



A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 2001 from TDP (Tandy Corp) as a Production Line Supervisor. He was a member of Bent Creek Baptist Church where he was an Elder and Sunday School Teacher for many years, and was a former member of Biltmore Baptist Church.



Carroll was very active in the South Asheville Little League and Oakley Youth Sports Programs, serving as a coach, referee, umpire and commissioner. He influenced the lives of so many young men, and served...

Asheville – Mary Ann Young Chance, 50, of 20 Evelake Drive, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at her home.

Mrs. Chance was born May 1, 1949, at the Chelsea Mass., Naval Hospital and had lived in Asheville for most of her life.  She attended St. Eugene’s Catholic School through the eighth grade and was a 1967 graduate of Erwin High School.  She received her R.N. degree from Central Piedmont College in Charlotte and worked for five years at the V.A. Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., where she met her husband.  Together they moved to Asheville where she worked for 22 years in the endoscopy department at Memorial Mission Hospital.
