Thanks to everyone who made this reunion a success: The Classmates who attended; the planning and executing committee members; those participating in the program, including our guest speaker; our honored math instructor; our contributors/ sponsors; and any others who supported us such as spouses, family, and friends. And a special Thank You to Dickie Franklin who relentlessly pursued the vision of a reunion to outdistance all other reunions! You did it!
I would like to commend all the committee members for the 50th Reunion for an outstanding job! All of you did an amazing job ! Thanks so much for all your hard work to make the reunion so successful. The food was great, the flowers were beautiful and the Memory Board was so well done. And, the program was entertaining.
I am so glad we were able to come. Thank you Dickie for your persistance in locating me. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing from everyone.
It has been suggested that all men wearing bibbed ovealls and no shirt, please button all side buttons, we do not wish to show off to much flesh. This has been a public service announcement.
%u200BThanks for all the hard work on this, impressive!!
Allright all you chickens! It's show time. Let's post pictures of yourself so we know what you look like NOW. This is the way you do it. Post the worst picture you have of yourself so that when we meet in person we can say "oh you look so good " and not have to lie about it. Take my picture for example - I don't have any direction to go but UP. It has been suggested that all female classmates attending wear you hair in the same style as the annual picture so that we can recognize you. This does not apply to the male members of our graduating class, most of us do not have hair or enough to style. Bring your own polygrip, geritol, and cup for your teeth when the meal is over. Each person remind at least ten class mates to help us not forget when and where to be. Does anyone know what we are supposed to wear or not wear? Respectfully, Dennis Holcombe
So I won't be at the reunion for one or more of the following reasons:1) The warden said no furlough 2) Broke my leg chasing a 45 year old man 3) promised my son to quit hitch hiking 4) didn't think I looked old enough 5)didn't want to 6) didn't go to/school at Erwin. Actually, i loved Erwin and eeveryone (almost) I met there. My father was transferred in my sophomore year and I had no choice but to graduate from a school about 1/4 the size of Erwin. In fact, as soon as we find an old phone booth, our class here (Shelby,NC) is going to have a reunion! Seriously I will be thinking of y'all on the 23rd and hope everyone has a blast! Always, Carolyn.
Looking forward to the 50th reunion. Hope we have a really good turnout.

Thanks to all of those involved in making this 50th reunion possible.
Thanks to everyone who is helping with this event. It tales a lot of time and effort. Jim Smith
How on earth has it been 50 years gone by?
Thank you for all of the hard work to make this happen.
It will be great to see everyone after sooooo long! Thank you to all of you who have made hundreds of calls and spent hours/days on the internet trying to find our classmates. There is real spy potential on the Reunion Committee. You know who you are!! And thanks to Linda Maney Thorpe for creating the website mostly because Dickie hounded her until she had to say yes. But we're lucky she had that moment of weakness. And Janice Wells Harris has so many technical skills , she really got loaded up with responsibilities. But she's so sweet--she just soldiers on. I'm doing some things on the committee but not much. It sure makes me tired just watching the rest of them. See you soon, Teresa
Hi all, I'm just back from a 4 day Grateful Dead music festival (some things never change) and was thrilled to read the profile updates and messages from so many classmates. I'm still a little stunned that 50 years have passed since our graduation. In many ways it seems like a very short time ago while in other ways it's been about 20 lifetimes ago. I'm sorry I won't be able to join you for the celebration as I'll be out of town for work, but I'll be thinking of all of you. Have a wonderful time and thanks to all of those who did so much work to make this happen. My best to all. Ed
