ASHEVILLE – Roy “Merrill” Jones, age 75, of Asheville died January 23, 2023, at Elderberry Health Care.
Mr. Jones was born on July 20, 1947, in Buncombe County, North Carolina where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible College and was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy William and Ethel Mathis Jones. He is survived by many cousins.
Graveside services for Mr. Jones will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 27, at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Dr. Larry Melton, and music will be provided by Brenda Pounders.
