Barbara West
2018-04-03Barbara Christiansen West slipped the surly bonds of earth to fly among the stars with her beloved Dave, already almost five years a starman, on April 3, 2018. Her joint citizenship between Davenport FL, the location of her passing, and Waxhaw NC allowed her to spread her love among family, friends and strangers. She was friendly, feisty and generous to a fault. Curious of life's mysteries, she was a voracious reader, animal lover and defender of social justice. Her tenderheartedness was not bamboozled by fools and any cruelty toward the 4-legged or 2-legged did not go unchallenged. Her death leaves an immense crater in the lives of those she knew and loved: Her son Dave West, Jr., daughter Amanda West-Rogers and their spouses, Beth and Stephen, respectively, granddaughter Luci and grandson-to-be expected early August. Her sibs Carol Christiansen Landers and husband Woody, Susie Christiansen and husband Dempsy Calhoun, Marty Christiansen and wife Lisa, and Dana Christiansen Calvert and husband Greg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are entrusted to Cremation Services of Mid Florida, Davenport, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to South Charlotte Dog Rescue, Be the Match and Mike Conley Hospice House, Clermont. She will be greatly missed.
