Asheville – George A. Curtis Jr., 51, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at St. Joseph Memorial Mission Hospital following a brief illness.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired as owner and operator of Curtis Hi-Tech.

Mr. Curtis was a son of Lucille Burrell Curtis of Asheville and the late George Alvin Curtis Sr.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Betty Thomas Curtis of the home; daughter, Tammy Curtis Tsiros and husband George of Asheville; grandson, Demetri Tsiros of Asheville; sisters, Mary Lou Biggs and Aileen Crain, both of Asheville and Judy Summey of Greensboro; brother, Bill Curtis of Oklahoma City, Okla; five nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. David Hanson officiating.  Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
